Reducing multidimensional poverty and vulnerability in Palawan through the sustainable provision of electricity from renewable sources
Project overview
The objective of the project is to improve the living conditions of the vulnerable population residing in isolated rural communities in the province of Palawan that do not have electricity service and do not expect to have it in the short-medium term.
One of its objectives is the sustainable provision of household electricity supply services to some 1,400 families. The minimum equipment to be installed in the homes, easy to transport, maintain and install and with an estimated useful life of 20 years, offers daily, at least, more than 6 hours of electric light, charging of several cell phones per day, and several hours of connection of efficient 12Vdc compatible devices such as radio, TV, fans, etc. The provision of homes with higher capacity systems will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, considering the needs expressed, the expected uses and the payment capacity of each household.
