Promoting women’s green and circular entrepeneurship and disaster risk reduction in Zamboanga city

Project overview

The proposal aims to enhance women's access to green and circular entrepreneurship and disaster risk reduction in Zamboanga to contribute to promoting inclusive and sustainable development, women's rights and the green economy in the Philippines. The project focuses on indigenous-dominated neighbourhoods where more than 51.29% of the population lives in poverty, especially women. The main causes of the feminisation of poverty and the violation of women's rights were identified as lack of access to economic resources, low capacity in disaster risk management and environmental protection, and limited social participation. The proposal was designed in a participatory manner, in response to the needs and problems identified by the communities, involving women, public and private institutions.
