Empowering Indigenous Women through Nutrition-sensitive interventions and Agriculture Livelihoods Support towards Improved Food and Nutrition Security and Climate Resilience
Project overview
In Mindanao, smallholder farmers, particularly women, face gendered vulnerabilities due to climate change and conflict. WFP collaborates with FAO, UN Women, and local partners to pilot a school-based feeding program using the HGSF approach. The program integrates women's empowerment to overcome socioeconomic challenges and improve food security and nutrition outcomes. Women’s role as caregivers and contributors to food systems is crucial in enhancing community resilience.
